Who We Are
The Young Widows and Widowers Group of Brisbane aims to provide peer-to-peer emotional and practical support to young widowed men and women – married or not, with or without children, whatever their sexual orientation – as they adjust to life after the death of their partner.

We share resources, ideas, energy, and most importantly, hope.
The group is open to anyone who is widowed and wishes to become a member however as a guideline ‘young’ usually means under 55 years of age at the time widowhood commenced.

Monthly meetings and social events are a chance for members to feel safe to share their grief in a non-judgmental and understanding environment. There is additional support by way of our Facebook groups, offering peer support online. Further support is available by phone contact.
Upcoming Events
Despite our grief, our members do know how to laugh and have fun. Supporting each other is a great way to learn to live again after the trauma of experiencing a loved one die. And many people have made life-long friendships through our group.
